All Cornell undergraduates are required to pass a swim test. There are some exceptions for transfer students.

New First-Year Students

If you can swim you are required to complete the swim test during Orientation week. Sign up for an available test time on July 8^th. If you cannot swim or do not feel confident about your swimming skills, read about PE 1100 - Beginning Swimming and how to enroll.

New Transfer Students

Transfer students entering with 2 semesters of academic credit or more are exempt from the swim test requirement. Consult with your college registrar to determine how many semesters of credit you will receive. If you are not exempt, sign up for an available swim test time unless you will be taking PE 1100 - Beginning Swimming.

Continuing Undergraduate Students

If you have not yet completed the swim test or 2 semesters of beginners swim, sign up for a swim test time.
